Colorado Public Radio (CPR) is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner.

About the Position:

The Senior HR Business Partner serves as an advisor to employees, translating organizational priorities into people strategies that advance performance, culture, and operational excellence. This role provides thought partnership, drives organizational effectiveness initiatives, and tackles complex talent challenges that require a systems-level perspective. You will coach leaders and employees, manage employee relations matters, and ensure practices align with organizational values, employment law and HR best practices.

The new hire is expected to reside in the greater Denver metro area upon starting - this is not a remote position. However, a hybrid schedule is available that requires a minimum of 3 days in the office each week.

About You:

You are a strategic HR partner who leads with courage, empathy, and clarity, including the ability to give and receive difficult feedback with professionalism and grace. You hold yourself and others accountable while fostering a respectful, psychologically safe work environment. You bring a data-informed, results-oriented mindset to your work, using insights to guide decisions and influence organizational outcomes. You have experience designing, delivering, and evolving training programs in response to changing business needs and emerging challenges. Grounded in strong judgment and adaptability, you are comfortable navigating complexity and driving meaningful people-focused change.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in an HRBP role or another strategic HR advisory role.
  • Experience establishing and leading HR initiatives that center the integration of inclusive practices into people processes and culture transformation efforts.
  • Proven success managing complex employee relations matters with fairness, consistency, and cultural awareness.
  • Experience supporting or advising individual contributors and leaders on people strategy, change management, and organizational effectiveness.
  • A strong understanding of employment laws, HR compliance standards, and equitable policy application.
  • Proficient in using HR systems and platforms such as HRIS, performance management tools, and applicant tracking systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft and Google platforms such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Gmail, Google Drive, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to use data to identify trends and drive outcomes.
  • Familiarity with best practices in inclusion, anti-bias, and equitable HR decision-making.

Education Equivalency

  • A fully relatable bachelor’s or master’s degree may replace some of the required years of experience needed to qualify for the position, but is not required for the role.

Don't meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Colorado Public Radio, we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, equitable and authentic workplace. If you're excited about this role, but your past experience doesn't perfectly align with every qualification in the job posting, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles with us.
