The Hill is reporting that no less than three separate congressional hearings have now been been scheduled over the Gold King Mine spill catastrophe.

The blowout was caused accidentally by an EPA crew beginning the process of trying to clean up and plug a mess left by a success of private companies in the San Juan mountains.

The House Science Committee will start things off with a hearing on Sept. 9. The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee holds a hearing on Sept. 16. And the House Oversight Committee and House Natural Resources Committee will conduct a joint hearing on the incident starting the next day.
