Stopping The Spread of HIV With Early Treatment

Listen Now

Drugs that keep HIV at bay are so good these days, they can make the virus hard to spread. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently imagined a generation without AIDS. She said, “we now know that if you treat a person living with HIV effectively, you reduce the risk of transmission to a partner by 96 percent." With that in mind, Clinton says a “test and treat approach” is a critical part of a global AIDS strategy. Victor Dukay, of Denver, has been advocating for this approach for a couple of years. Ryan Warner speaks with Dukay in advance of World AIDS Day on Thursday, Dec. 1.
