Welcome to the very first episode of "The Playlist League," a new podcast from Colorado Public Radio’s OpenAir that pits playlist against playlist.
This podcast was inspired by a comment from a listener-supporter named Hannah, who wrote: “I was in a 'fantasy playlist league' with some friends where we had to submit our best new tunes each week and vote on them. I won thanks to OpenAir!"
"The Playlist League" follows a similar format. Each participant drafts five songs within a certain musical theme, one track at a time. Then, listeners vote on whose playlist is the best, and the curator of the playlist with the most votes will select the theme for the next episode.
Our first episode features CPR's OpenAir hosts Jessi Whitten, Jeremy Petersen and Bruce Trujillo selecting their ideal music festival headliners, living or dead. Below, see their individual song selections and listen along with a Spotify playlist (Update: Voting is now closed).
