September 25, 2025: Xcel settles wildfire lawsuit, amusement park’s payout, hall of fame skier, coolest inventions

Police tape marks of homes Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, destroyed by the Marshall fire along Eldorado Drive in Superior. by the he Marshall fire ignited Dec. 30, 2021, in Boulder County and destroyed nearly 1,000 homes in and around Superior and Louisville, and left thousands of people scrambling to evacuate, driven by winds that sometimes exceeded 100 mph.

Xcel Energy plans to pay more than half a billion dollars to avoid a trial over its role in the state’s most destructive wildfire. Then, an iconic attraction in the state says it could close after its own legal payout. Plus, hear from a skier with disabilities who’s getting inducted into the snowsports hall of fame.
