CENTENNIAL, Colo. – Feb. 16, 2011 – Colorado Public Radio (CPR) welcomed Pat Mack as reporter and producer to contribute to the daily interview program, “Colorado Matters.”
“Pat is an award-winning journalist and newsroom leader, exemplified through his experience at South Dakota Public Radio and KTIV Television in Sioux City, Iowa,” said Kelley Griffin, CPR's news director. “I am confident that his in-depth interviews will deepen listeners' understanding of key events and trends in Colorado as we continue expanding CPR's local news.”
Before CPR, Mack served as health affairs communications coordinator for the University of South Dakota's Sanford School of Medicine and School of Health Sciences. He also worked in the newsrooms of South Dakota Public Radio and KTIV Television in Sioux City, Iowa.
Mack received two Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for his feature stories and production work. South Dakota Public Radio received two Murrow awards for overall excellence while Mack was news director. The South Dakota and Iowa chapters of the Associated Press also recognized him several times for excellence in news production.
