Denver, Colo. Oct. 2, 2020 - On Something, a podcast from Colorado Public Radio focusing on life after the legalization of cannabis, will host a live, virtual storytelling event on October 15. Audio from the event, “My Family, On Something,” will be used to create a bonus episode for On Something.
At the event, storytellers will tell personal tales related to their families and cannabis — stories that are promised to be full of “sentiment and substance.” Ann Marie Awad and Andrew Orvedahl will chat with the storytellers and introduce each story in real-time before a live-streaming audience. Ann Marie Awad is an award-winning Colorado Public Radio reporter and the host of the On Something podcast. Andrew Orvedahl is the founder of Denver’s live storytelling event and podcast, The Narrators. He is also a comedian, writer and actor behind TruTV’s scripted comedy show, “Those Who Can’t.”
Storytellers include:
- Janae Burris, a comedian, actor, event host and former co-host of the Denver Post’s Cannabist Show in Denver.
- Troy Walker, an L.A. based comedian, native of Denver, and two-time winner of Comedy Works’ new faces of comedy.
- Christie Buchele, a comedian, co-host of the Empty Girlfriend Podcast and cofounder of The Pussy Bros. comedy troupe.
- Billy Wayne Davis, a stand-up, writer, and actor based in Los Angeles. He is the creator and cohost of the podcast Grown Local.
- Eeland Stribling, a wildlife educator, biologist and standup comedian.
“My Family, On Something” is sponsored by the Rodman Law Group. The event is free and open to the public and will take place on October 15 at 7:00 p.m. on the virtual events platform Shindig. RSVP here.
