Greeley reporter Mike Peters tells Colorado Matters there’s one story that’s haunted him for the past 40 years: The murder of a 7-Eleven clerk whom Peters had met before she died.
Peters and law enforcement officers stuck with the case over all these years, and the officers finally found the killer. Peters tells the whole story in a new book called “The Cornfield.” The victim's name was Mary Pierce and the book title comes from the fact that her body was found in a cornfield in Greeley.
