The 1960s space age cartoon "The Jetsons" predicted a future of convenience where electronic arms would brush your teeth or a multi-course meal would appear at the push of a button. The cartoon, or at least some of the home automation ideas it featured, is the subject of a panel today at Denver Startup Week called "Did the Jetsons Lie To Us?"
Ryan Margoles, who co-founded the Denver-based company Notion, is one of the speakers. The company sells an Oreo-sized device that monitors smoke, carbon monoxide, water leaks and security breaches. He told Colorado Matters that easy-to-use monitoring devices that perform multiple tasks are among the latest innovations in smart-home technology.
