The author of the "The Descendents," which became an Oscar award-winning movie, has a new novel. The setting: Breckenridge, Colorado.
"The Possibilities," by Kaui Hart Hemmings is the story of a mother who loses her son to an avalanche accident.
Hemmings, who lives in Hawaii, found inspiration for the setting of her novel in Colorado. She attended Colorado College and later lived in Denver and Breckenridge. She says she chose to base "The Possibilities" in Breckenridge because it was "a place that stuck with me and I wanted to get it down in print."
Hemmings spoke with Andrea Dukakis on "Colorado Matters."
