As a girl, Lynn Hall dreamed of becoming a military pilot, but her experience at the U.S. Air Force Academy ended up being a nightmare.
Hall arrived at the school as a first-year cadet in 2001 -- just two years before a sexual assault scandal came to light on campus. The scandal forced changes at all military academies, including a congressional mandate that the schools provide annual reports on sexual assault on campus.
Hall's new book about her experience is called "Caged Eyes: An Air Force Cadet's Story of Rape and Resilience." We contacted the Air Force Academy to request a comment on the book but did not receive a response in time for this story.
Hall spoke with Colorado Matters host Andrea Dukakis.
