Solar energy has huge potential. One hour of sunlight provides all the energy humans need for a year. But capturing that energy and turning it into affordable power has been the catch. Solar panels really aren’t all that efficient, turning only about 15 percent of the sunlight they capture into energy. But researchers at the Colorado School Mines may change all that. They’ve found a way to boost the energy solar panels generate and to make the panels at a much cheaper price. Mark Lusk, who leads the team of researchers, talks with Ryan Warner.
