Federal prosecutors in Colorado have stepped up efforts to target cyber criminals. This week, the U.S. Attorney's office announced its new Cyber Crime and National Security Section.
It will focus on growing online threats, including child exploitation and digital currency. It will also target hackers who can easily go online and get off-the-shelf technology to exploit home computers and network-enabled devices. The section will also focus on national security issues like terrorist recruiting and cyber espionage.
Judy Smith, who is leading the effort for the U.S. Attorney's office, spoke with Colorado Matters host Andrea Dukakis.
