A Colorado company is helping run a $5.2 billion project to expand the Panama Canal. The canal’s been a key to world trade for almost a century but it’s too small for a new generation of mega-ships that carry more cargo more efficiently. Colorado’s CH2M Hill is managing the expansion along with the Panama Canal Authority. The project is scheduled to be finished in 2014. Pat Mack speaks with Garry Higdem, president of the company’s transportation group.
