Each year, Colorado honors “Centennial Farms.” These are farms and ranches that have survived, in one family, for at least 100 years. This year’s awards were given to 21 families this month. Jim Shafer was among the honorees. He lives near Otis, in northeastern Colorado. We talked with Shafer and found out his grandad came from Iowa to start the farm.
