We're counting down to the primary... which is August 10th. And today... we start our conversations with the candidates for U.S. Senate. First up: Democrat Michael Bennet. He was the superintendent of Denver Public Schools when the governor appointed him to the senate last year. He's since gotten the president's endorsement and built a sizable campaign war chest. The 45-year old Bennet faces a primary challenge from Andrew Romanoff. Romanoff is a former speaker of the state house and won the top spot on the Democratic primary ballot. He'll join us tomorrow. Michael Bennet came to Colorado in 1997 to work in private industry. He later served as Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper's chief of staff, before moving to DPS.
