Tom Clark will be the first to tell you that countless people have played a role in Denver area's metamorphosis over the past 30 years. Still, many credit him with being a major player in the development of key projects in the region including Denver International Airport, Coors Field and Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
Clark, who plans to step down in March from his job as CEO of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation, has also been instrumental in luring large companies to the area and pushing to diversify Denver's economy to avoid the boom-bust cycles of the past.
Clark also serves on the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and was named "Denver Post Business Person of the Year" in 2012.
He says the metro area still has several obstacles to overcome including aging roads and bridges, which the public has been reluctant to pay for.
