Highlands Ranch composer Charles Denler makes his living writing music for commercials, movies, and television shows. You’ve probably heard his music on PBS or the History Channel. He’s even won a few Emmys. But he always wanted to write a symphony. So, several years ago, he started composing an orchestral work inspired by his adopted state. It’s called Portraits of Colorado and it premieres Friday night at Boettcher Concert Hall, with Scott O’Neil conducting the Colorado Symphony. Denler talks to Ryan Warner.
