Think of it a a cross between an organ and a synthesizer. “I have two keyboards and then a foot keyboard, and so typically you do melody on top and then harmony and then bass,” she says. It mimics all kinds of instruments, “and it sounds very realistic and it’s a lot of fun.”
The electone will be front and center as part of the inaugural Denver International Electronic Music Festival, which starts today and runs through Sunday. The festival is being staged by the University of Denver’s Law Institute of Art and Technology -- created through a $20 million endowment from Dennis Law, Jade’s father.
Part of the program includes the first known electone concerts in the United States, performed Saturday and Sunday by musician Pang Bo of China.
