A new movie is out about Allen Ginsberg’s groundbreaking poem Howl. It centers on the 1957 obscenity trial that the poem sparked. Anne Waldman was on the set during the filming. She and Ginsberg co-founded The Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University in Boulder. Waldman sat down with us in 2006, when Howl turned 50, to discuss the poem's impact.
