There’s high drama at the Colorado legislature. At issue is the so-called "Red Flag Warning" bill -- which would allow judges to order people to surrender their guns when they present a risk to themselves or others.
It's sponsored in the House by Democratic State Representative Alec Garnett of Denver. And -- in a move that’s put him in some political trouble -- Republican State Rep. Cole Wist of Centennial. The bill is expected to clear the House today and move to the senate next week, as the legislature enters its last three days. Wist talked to Colorado Matters about why he backed the bill -- and what he thinks will happen in the senate.
