In many ways, Joe Todeschi’s life mirrored the history of Silverton, the town where he was born. At 16 he went to work for the railroads, during the industry's heyday in town. Then he worked in several mines when they were booming. Later in life, Todeschi helped build county roads that still see a lot of jeeps and ATVs in the summer. Todeschi passed away in November of kidney failure. At 95 he was Silverton’s oldest resident. Ryan Warner speaks with his daughter, Sharon Birchfield.
