Health insurance companies are grappling with how, and even if, to cover transgender people. Two insurers in Colorado, Kaiser Permanente and a new non-profit insurer called Colorado HealthOP, recently announced they would offer coverage tailored to the needs of transgender patients. Transgender people such as Courtney Gray have had to fight for many of the changes. Gray is with the GLBT Community Center in Denver, and she spoke with Ryan Warner.
