Story Produced by Lee Hill
Students may be on vacation but state education leaders are working hard this summer on how to measure good teaching. This stems from the "Great Teachers and Leaders Act," or Senate Bill 191, which is about a year old. In a few minutes we'll meet Tracy Dorland, who's helping the state come up with the new teacher evaluation system. She's executive director of educator effectiveness for Denver Public Schools and a member of the state Council for Educator Effectiveness. She says it's been a challenging task.
Now, though, let's hear how some of you define good -- and bad -- teaching. Ryan Warner speaks with Lee Hill. He's CPR's new Public Insight analyst and reporter. His job is to help us connect with more Coloradans to inform our reporting. Please join our Public Insight Network. We especially want to hear from teachers about Senate Bill 191.
