Study Links Altitude With Suicide

October 14, 2010

There’s a significant link between suicide and altitude according to a new study. And it could help explain why Colorado has consistently had one of the country’s highest suicide rates. The study comes out of another high-up place, the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. Dr. Perry Renshaw is a professor of psychiatry there. He got interested in this area of research after attending a lecture on suicide which showed high rates across the Rocky Mountain West.
