In the early 1960s, surf music was all the rage. The best-known group, of course, was the Beach Boys, but there were others, including a band from landlocked Boulder. The Astronauts recorded for RCA, one of the biggest labels of the time, and in 1963, they scored a hit single, “Baja.” Nearly 50 years later, the Astronauts are being inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame.
