The Colorado Department of Transportation wants to ease congestion on Interstate 70. CDOT is proposing to make I-70 eastbound three lanes from Idaho Springs to the metro area. The project requires widening one of the Twin Tunnels. The state transportation commission is expected to approve the $60 million project Thursday. Tony Devito is a regional director with CDOT.
