It’s the beginning of what could be an extreme rafting and kayaking season. The state’s snowpack is nearly 250 percent above average, and state officials say rivers may run higher than they have in decades. Some of the rafters out there are using a craft made in Mancos, Colorado, about a half-hour west of Durango.
