As his Cliburn bio page mentions, the 20-year-old is also a gifted programmer. Hsu contributed to the development of Workflow, a productivity app that Apple acquired in 2017.

Hsu focused on music rather than technology during his recent visit to CPR Classical. The pianist showed off his formidable chops recently in a CPR Performance Studio session, playing Frederic Chopin's Polonaise in A-Flat Major.
