Gov. Bill Ritter says his administration will focus on increasing the number of Coloradans with health insurance. Three quarters of a million Coloradans lack coverage. To achieve this goal, Ritter will rely heavily on the Colorado Department of Healthcare Policy and Financing. That's the agency responsible for administering government programs like Medicaid and the Child Health Plan Plus. Both provide coverage to low-income Coloradans.
