Dorothy Wickenden's grandmother and a friend taught school in remote Elkhead Colorado, near Hayden, in 1916 and 1917. Wickenden, executive editor of the New Yorker, writes about the story in the magazine's April 20th issue. She speaks with Ryan Warner. Audio Slideshow.
