Colorado Competes: Rocky Mtn Whitewater Showcased at London Games

· Aug. 3, 2012, 4:28 pm

Colorado resident and former Olympian Scott Shipley shows off the machine he created that's being used in the whitewater course at the London Olympics.

Kayaking and canoing medals were awarded in London this week, and Colorado has a connection to the whitewater slalom course that tested the athletes in those events.  The US didn’t medal in the competitions, but as KUNC’s Grace Hood reports, the inspiration for the course can be traced back to the small Colorado town of Lyons and a former Olympian there.
