In all of music history, there is no shortage of genius or interesting personalities. But there's still only been one Richard Wagner.

Today marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of the man who, by the sheer force of his will, single handedly changed opera forever. Born on May 22, 1813 in Leipzig, Germany, Wagner is still revered as one of the most pivotal and controversial figures in music history.
