Colorado Breweries sign on to climate change pledge

Three Colorado breweries -- Aspen Brewing Company, New Belgium Brewing and Odell Brewing -- have joined 21 other brewers and signed a brewer's pledge to advocate for action on climate change.

Jenn Vervier, director of strategy and sustainability at New Belgium Brewery, told the Huffington Post that advocating for more climate change policy makes sense for brewers because barley and hops are sensitive to a changing climate.

Over the past decade, climate change has helped drive the price of hops up by more than 250 percent, according the Ceres, the nonprofit who prepared the pledge.
