Vice visits Casa Bonita, which many people apparently don’t think is real

Vice, the New York-based news organization that calls itself the "Time Warner of the streets," has visited far-flung places like Brazil and Peru for its food shows. They can now add the Denver area to the list.

They visited Casa Bonita, that venerable Mexican restaurant in Lakewood known better for its cliff divers and the puppet shows than its food (if one believes Yelp reviews, anyway).

A 2003 episode of South Park famously centered around Casa Bonita -- the show's creators loved the restaurant when they were growing up in Colorado. Some of the show's viewers didn't know the restaurant was a real place, Vice says.

But many more do now. The restaurant's general manager tells Vice that after the episode airs these days, they see a 10 percent bump in sales.
