Charley talks about the role of percussion in an orchestra, and we hear a performance by So Percussion. The group plays with the Colorado Symphony Friday and Saturday at Boettcher Concert Hall.
Charley tells the story Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, and we hear a performance of the first movement. And we'll hear music by Musica Sacra Chamber Orchestra, which plays Beethoven's Fifth Symphony on Friday and Saturday.
Charley tells the story of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 1 and shares an excerpt from the piece. Sherry Kim plays the concerto Sunday with the Jefferson Symphony. Kim recently won the symphony's International Young Artists Competition.
