Controversial PARCC tests begin smoothly, in one district at least

Problems were minimal last week in Summit County as elementary students began their first electronic, state-mandated Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers tests. In fact, the school district’s director of assessment and technology told the Summit Daily, “All and all I think things went pretty well.”

In some parts of the state, the PARCC tests have been met with resistance. As CPR's Jenny Brundin reported, the new tests are longer and harder.
