Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air asked the court to block the strike. It argued it did not have enough replacement crews to fly its full schedule and 33,000 travelers could be stranded on the Easter holiday weekend.

The judge issued a temporary restraining order. The union had planned to begin the strike Thursday and says it will comply with the court order.
