Eastern Plains under red flag warning, storm may bring cooler temperatures

Gusty winds combined with very warm temperatures and dry fuels mean conditions are ripe for fast moving wildfires.

An approaching storm system is expected to impact the state Thursday afternoon through Friday bringing much cooler temperatures. But forecasters say it’s still too early to pinpoint where and how much rain or snow will fall.
