3 who brought guns, smoke bomb to Denver school charged

Three students who brought handguns and a smoke bomb to a Denver school are being prosecuted.

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey announced Thursday that he has charged the 14-year-old and two 12-year-old boys as juveniles. The 14-year-old and one of the 12-year-olds are each charged with possessing a weapon on school grounds, a felony, and possessing a handgun as a juvenile, a misdemeanor. The other 12-year-old is charged with having a hoax explosive.
