Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald reports.

The goal is traditionally to have the 48-mile route from Estes Park to Grand Lake open by the Memorial Day holiday. And even though it may be open by then, changeable weather in the high peaks can make early-season driving there a challenge.

The National Park Service updates road conditions on its website here. You can also call the park's recorded status line at 970-586-1222.
