Uber service in Aspen has been sporadic since it was announced in 2013, reports the Aspen Times. Now city officials say that there is no business license for the company on file.

That seems like bad news for one Aspen Uber driver, who told the paper that he's the only driver in the area to his knowledge. Uber's Denver office has also told the man that there might not be enough demand in Aspen.

An anonymous taxi driver says his company isn't worrying about Uber; they're worried about their own operations:

“To me, it doesn’t seem feasible in a market as small as Aspen,” he said. “We have a hard time making it here. ... Uber works in a big city. The economics are there.”
