Footage of animal abuse at a Fort Morgan dairy farm has prompted firings and an investigation by the county sheriff, reports Dairy Today.
The video released Wednesday by Mercy for Animals, a Los Angeles-based activist group, shows workers at Cactus-Acres Holsteins punching and beating cattle repeatedly. Employees stab cows with screwdrivers, pencils and dairy equipment.
Owners Jim and Marie Goedert said in a statement that take full responsibility for the abuses, but were "saddened that these actions were not immediately brought to our attention."
The Goederts also said they intend to press criminal charges and have already dismissed several employees.
