Colorado Springs teenager Hunter Treschl and his cousin were goofing off in the waves at a North Carolina beach when he felt something bump into his left calf. He thought it was a big fish of some kind so he moved away.
It was then that the shark bit the 16-year-old's left arm off above the elbow. In a videotaped interview released yesterday by the hospital that is treating him, Treschl said his cousin helped him to make it back onto the beach before others came running to his aid.
