Houston’s And Chicago’s Loss Is Denver’s United Airlines Gain

United Airlines plans to consolidate its Flight Training Center in Denver and create 225 jobs here in the process. The airline says it chose Denver over Chicago and Houston because renovating the facility here would be more cost-effective and allow the pilot training center to be up and running two years earlier than planned.

Mayor Michael B. Hancock welcomed the news as "a testament to the region’s standing as a hub of innovation and prosperit," and pointed out that, in addition to the new jobs, the 400 other will remain in the area.
