Dr. Tianlong Jiao joins the Denver Art Museum as its curator of Asian art in September 2015.

Tianlong Jiao will serve as the curator of Asian art beginning in September. He takes over for Ronald Y. Otsuka, who recently retired after more than four decades with the museum.

Tianlong, who holds a Ph.D. in archeology from Harvard University, comes from the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, where he curated the Chinese art collection for nearly a year. He previously served as the chief curator at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum.

“The scholarly depth of his experience with Asian art is impressive, and he will bring a new lens to our Pan Asian collection,” DAM director Christoph Heinrich said Monday in a press release.
