If you listen to CPR News’ daily interview program, “Colorado Matters,” you’re probably accustomed to hearing Ryan Warner host interviews, features and news series focused on issues that are impacting our state. Starting this week, you may notice another voice on the show—that of CPR News’ Nathan Heffel, who joins the “Colorado Matters” team as producer and host.

Heffel came to Colorado Public Radio earlier this year, bringing significant experience with public radio in Colorado, most recently working as host and reporter for KUNC in Greeley. Since landing at CPR, he has produced and contributed to various CPR News reports, such as this story about the Nepal earthquake’s impact in Colorado and coverage of the Aurora theater shooting trial.

“I am thrilled to have Nathan on the ‘Colorado Matters’ team,” Warner said. “He has a warm and welcoming voice, but he’s not afraid to ask tough questions. And with his deep understanding of Colorado, he will definitely be an asset to our storytelling.”

In the weeks to come, you’ll hear more of Heffel’s voice on “Colorado Matters,” while Warner will continue to serve as the program’s primary host. Tune in to “Colorado Matters:” weekdays at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.; Saturday at 7 p.m.; and Sunday at 1 p.m.
