Underwhelming Donations For Gold King Mine Victim Fund

· Aug. 28, 2015, 5:07 pm

Donations are below expectations to a fund to help victims of the Gold King Mine spill in southwest Colorado.

The Durango Herald reports that the community’s emergency relief fund has received only $14,000 to help victims of the spill.

So far, about 35 people have requested help, including rafting companies and guides hurt when the Animas River was closed. Victims also might be eligible for federal assistance.
