Colorado authorities say they removed more than 11,700 marijuana plants that were part of an illegal growing operation in the San Isabel National Forest.
The U.S. Forest Service said Thursday that hunters discovered the grow site about 40 miles northwest of Trinidad in southern Colorado. Authorities also removed an irrigation pipe, pesticides, flammable liquids, and camping gear near the site.
Two men at the site were arrested but have not been identified.
The Forest Service says the grow operation spanned 10 acres.
The Bureau of Land Management and the Huerfano County Sheriff's Office were also involved in the investigation and removal of the plants. The Forest Service is asking the public to call if anyone has additional information about the grow site.
