100 Denver Buildings Commit To City’s Energy Efficiency Program

More than 100 buildings have signed up for Denver’s energy efficiency program in its first year. The program asks building owners to commit to measuring energy performance and then share the data with the city.

The hope is that will lead to efficiency improvements--something Denver Mayor Michael Hancock says could mean more than a billion dollars in savings.

"We got to look at how we build building that are more efficient," he said.

The city also is asking tenants to find out how energy efficient their buildings are, hoping it will lead to more energy efficiency.
